Did you know that it’s not actually known whether Benjamin Franklin really did fly a kite to prove that lightning is caused by electricity? What’s certain, though, is that he did propose such an experiment. Seeing Benjamin Franklin getting struck by lightning while flying a kite in so many cartoons has made so many people believe that it certainly did happen.
