According to Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was placed in the sky as punishment for claiming that her own daughter Andromeda was more beautiful than the Nereids. A variation on this story says that she was punished for claiming that she herself was more beautiful than the sea nymphs. Although these stories are just pure fiction, the beauty of Cassiopeia can be seen in the night sky with your very own eyes. The constellation is very recognizable because of its “M” shape. Why don’t you go out tonight and try to spot it?
