If you’re lucky you’ll have a big bedroom and some of you probably live in a big city, or even in a big country, but we’re going to be thinking about things that are REALLY REALLY big in this activity. We’re talking about the whole Solar System – that’s the planets, moons and other lumps of rock that surround the Sun. There are some big numbers involved with this activity, some very big numbers, but don’t get hung up on the details; just remember that we’re making everything to scale. Meaning the solar system will fit in your bedroom however big or small it is.
Now why would you want to make a bedroom-sized solar system?… Well, because you CAN, of course – and it’s going to really impress your parents and your friends. It’s also going to make the first prize at the next science fair at school yours for sure.
